Abstract

To determine the prevalence of depression and associated factors among internally displaced persons (IDPs) living in Debre Birhan, Amhara, Ethiopia, 2024.

Description

A mixed-method study titled "Prevalence of Depression and Associated Factors Among Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Living in Debre Birhan, Amhara, Ethiopia, 2024" was conducted from June 1–15, 2024, using an explanatory sequential design. The study involved 403 internally displaced persons (IDPs) selected through simple random sampling. The dependent variable was depression, while the independent variables included income status, access to basic needs, exposure to traumatic events, stigma related to displacement and mental illness, alcohol consumption, and khat chewing. Quantitative data were analyzed using STATA version 17.
